Description

The honors inscribed on this flag are: FORT DONELSON, SHILOH. HATACHIE, SIEGE OF CORINTH, VICKSBURG, JACKSON, KEN-NESAW MOUNTAIN, NICKAJACK, ATLANTA, SAVANNAH, PO-COTALIGO, COLUMBIA, SALKAHATCHIE, RALEIGH, BENTON-VILLE. This is a 35 star flag, therefore was probably manufactured late in the War. Note that the printing of the inscriptions is all done with similar lettering, suggesting that all the inscriptions were applied at the same time. This flag may have been carried in the Grand Review.
