34th  Illinois  Infantry  National  Flag

Description

There is a tag on this flag stating that it was captured. In the Regimental History noted above, on page 56, the author states that the regimental colors were captured by the 2nd Arkansas Infantry at the battle of Stone River and that all of the 34ths color bearers were either killed or wounded.
