78th  Illinois  Infantry  National  Flag

Description

The following battles are inscribed on this flag: CHICKAMAUGA, CHATANOOGA, RESACA, ROME, KENESAW MOUNTAIN, JONESBORO, ATLANTA, SAVANNAH, AVERYSBORO, BENTONVILLE. The star arrangement on this flag is characteristic of those manufactured by Gilbert Hubbard of Chicago.
