98th  Illinois  Infantry  National  Flag

This flag is inscribed: HOOVER'S GAP; CHICKAMAUGA; FARMINGTON; KENESAW MOUNTAIN; SIEGE OF ATLANTA; ROME; SALEM. 98th ILLs VOLs MTD INFTY The inscriptions are all of similar color and lettering, therefore the inscriptions were presumably all added at the same time either late in the War or even after the War.
